Every homeowner has a problem area in their yard. Someplace that they aren’t sure what to do with. This client had such a place and spent considerable time contemplating what to do before seeking our assistance. The main objective was to take this unfinished section of their rear yard and introduce something compelling that would enhanced the adjacent patio space without visually overpowering the garden environment. The landscape design was anchored by a water feature that encompassed a small stream, stone wall and shallow basin. A small sitting area unified the existing patio and upper terrace area by adjoining the spaces. The water feature gave purpose to the hillside and a visual accent to a previously drab section of the yard. Since brick was already used extensively throughout the garden natural stone was introduced and brick accents added creating an old world look.
